About Me

The Neurodivergent Whisperer

Christine Macinnis, The Neurodivergent Whisperer, specializes in supporting couples and adult family members of neurodivergent individuals, including those with autism, ADHD, and PDA profiles. The approach is rooted in her lived experience as an AuDHD person with a PDA profile, her therapeutic background as a trauma-informed, licensed marriage and family therapist, and focuses on affirming the strengths and unique perspectives of each member of the couple or family. She received her title, the Neurodivergent Whisperer, from an ND family she had previously worked with, and it stuck!

I offer personalized coaching sessions that empower couples to understand and embrace their unique neurotypes and their communication styles.  Our sessions are designed to foster communication, intimacy, and connection within the couple. No topics are off limits, from understanding how to express emotions to neurodivergent experience of sexuality.

Each person in a family experiences their neurotype differently. This can cause confusion, fear, and even anger as misunderstandings occur. Through the use of practical tools, such as parts work, each member will begin to understand how the other views their world, fostering better understanding. Everyone's voice is valued, and no one is left behind.

Raising a child who has a PDA profile can be rewarding, but it can also be so challenging! Mostly due to how the world views your child and the approaches you need to take to parent them. Work with a clinician who is not only trained through PDA North America and informed through the PDA Society of the UK, but also is PDA herself. I understand the unique needs of the PDA child, from understanding hierarchies within relationships for a PDA teen, to why your PDA child will use their body rather than their words when dysregulated.
